Born and raised in Mill Valley, I am a True Marin girl. And I bake - I mean I bake a lot...Good times, bad times, I just can't stop baking. I guess you could call me a Pro-cook-a-nator (noun: a person who will put off anything to cook). Even in the midst of important projects and a computer technical crisis, I would see a lone apple and all would be lost. The apple would call out to me, asking me to give it a chance to be more than yet another piece of fruit that suffers the ignominious fate of being forgotten at the bottom of one of my kids' backpacks. All work would be immediately abandoned, and two hours and 30 recipes researched later, a beautiful, gluten free, dairy free baked delight would be created. So yes, the other stuff did get done eventually, but seeing the smile of pleasure as family and friends bite into one of my creations helped me to rationalize my mad, crazy love for cooking.
So last year when I was given lemons, albeit beautiful Organic Meyer Lemons, I decided to make Lemon Drops, Lemon Meringue Pie, Citrus Bites and the rest is history. I invite you to join me as I take the journey from the white collar world to the world of aprons and baked delights. Oh and by the way, did I mention I have 9 year old twins, Travis and Libby? They are members of my elite Research & Development team and they make Gordon Ramsey seem timid! My husband Nigel and my miniature poodle Ozzy are just happy with the leftovers.
